Veterinary: patient-specific constructs and planning from the animal's CT

We design plates and guides for deformity correction and arthrodesis, articular surface components, osseointegrated limb prostheses and constructs for orthopaedic oncology.

How the process works

From the animal's CT to the kit

1

CT using the veterinary protocol

Download the protocol and send the DICOM as a link to the archive.

2

Digital planning

Calculation of axes and angles, fragment positions, construct design.

3

Approval with the surgeon

Geometry, fixation and kit contents — before manufacturing.

4

Manufacturing and delivery

Plates, guides, prosthesis or model — delivered to the clinic.

FAQ

Limb deformity correction, trochlear block replacement, patient-specific jaw plates, arthrodesis, osseointegrated prostheses, defect reconstruction and oncology, and guides for spinal surgery.

The digital planner calculates the deformity angles of the fore and hind limb bones and brings the bone fragments into an anatomically correct position. A kit is then manufactured to the plan: surgical guides and patient-specific anatomical plates.

A CT of the animal following the veterinary protocol. The protocol can be downloaded on this page. If in doubt, send the data and an engineer will check its suitability.

What you should know

Limits of what is possible

Bonabyte designs and manufactures the device according to the treating physician's plan. Medical decisions are made by the surgeon.

What we can do
  • calculate the deformity angles from the animal's CT
  • design a patient-specific plate and guides
  • manufacture an articular surface component or a prosthesis
  • agree the design with the veterinary surgeon
What we cannot determine without the physician and the source data
  • the medical indications for surgery
  • the surgical approach
  • soft tissue condition
  • the prognosis of the clinical outcome

A complex veterinary case?

Send us the CT and the clinical task — an engineer will assess applicability and propose a construct.

The information on this website is intended for healthcare professionals and does not constitute medical advice, a public offer or a guarantee of clinical outcome. Bonabyte devices are custom-made medical devices designed for a specific clinical task; their applicability depends on the CT data, the anatomy, the condition of the soft tissues, the surgical access and the operative plan. The final decision on the use of a device is made by the treating physician. Contraindications exist and an individual assessment of the clinical situation is required.
